Project Ten: Alone

My first child, Noel, let me photograph her for this "alone" theme this month. I couldn't resist this handmade dress and HAD to get it for her. First children hold a special place in a mother's heart. Not that they are any more important, or anything like that, of course...she taught me how to be a mommy...and brought me to love I never knew was ever there.

When I was pregnant with her, I was alone for the last 4 months of my pregnancy because my husband was deployed in Iraq. Once she was born, we were alone for another 5 months. That alone time we had was really priceless, but of course at that time, we were just missing daddy.

Now 5 years later, and having 3 beauties, alone time with Noel is pretty rare. We have to intentionally make dates and I let her skip naps so that we can be together. Sometimes the word "alone" can have a sad feeling connected to it, but with Noel, I cherish any alone time I get with her.
